TRAVELLING PERFORMERS COLLECTION
This collection is inspired by the Commedia dell’Arte, which was a very popular form of acrobatic street theater performed in early modern Italy. Stock characters with their distinctive costumes and masks carried their fame through generations; influencing art, literature, music, opera, and film. Being a travelling theater, it played an essential role in bringing the people of cities together, no matter what their racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds were.This collection is a tribute to Commedia dell’Arte’s loud, authentic, and bold attitude which also allowed women to enter the stage for the first time in theatre history.
